STROLLING THROUGH BOLOGNA
A Series of Walking Tours of Bologna, Italy by Paola Bianco
Thursdays at 11:00 am EDT
Starting May 28, 2020, 11:00 am, EDT
Cost: $10 per walk
While you’re sitting in that armchair, why don’t you join us on an amble around Bologna, Italy? Paola Bianco will lead us in ever-widening walks through the streets of her town. The walks will increase in radius from her house, as COVID restrictions ease up in Italy. The first walk allows Paola to go only 200 meters from her home on via Saragozza. As restrictions loosen a bit, she’ll take us farther into the center of the city.
Paola is an architect, photographer, art historian, and fan of the Slow Food movement, so with these qualifications, she will show us Bologna from a multi-faceted viewpoint. If restrictions allow she will enter the beautiful food markets around town.
So, sit back and take a virtual tour of an actual European town and dream that you have crossed 3,000 miles of ocean and are really in Italy. Someday. During this series of strolls, we will get to know the secrets of this city, alternatively known as La Grassa (the fat one for its reputation as having the best food in Italy), or La Dotta (the educated because its university is the oldest university in Europe) or La Rossa (for its red roofs).

Owner, Host, & Director
Years ago, it was suggested to Joan that she might offer an art program, and she jumped at the chance of a lifetime. Bringing together all of her life's passions, the development and administration of Artful Journeys is an exhilarating process for Joan.
Joan was born and raised in the apple country of the Hudson River Valley in New York; her father was a gentle, very tolerant, educated land surveyor, and her mother was the efficient business administrator and home engineer. The youngest of four children, Joan was encouraged to pursue anything she wanted, but also to do her best. Sometimes that was very difficult, especially succeeding three very accomplished siblings.
Because we are not certain of the number of strolls in this series (it depends entirely upon the course of COVID), we will charge only by the presentation. Each stroll is $10.
The hour-long tours will begin on May 28, 2020, at 11:00 am EDT, 8:00 am PDT, and 5:00 pm CEST. Just sit back and imagine yourself strolling along with Paola.
