A Sea Poem by Bob Summersgill

I had a dream last night. I dreamed

I had to write a poem about...

...about what I did not know

But still I had to do it though

There were so many ways it seemed

Long or short or deep or shallow

Then just before i bounced awake

I knew the course I had to take

Sailing away on Pleasant Bay

No longer in irons I was tacking

to starboard with the right of way

Then running before the wind

And so began a glorious day
